Chris Lindeman
I build software that makes sense of the mess.
Math Circle Home is one of those tools — a math-circle app for my two kids and a small group of families in Mt Lebanon. It's free, capped at twenty families, and I'll personally email you when you sign up.
Base2ML
I'm the founder of Base2ML, a small AI and data engineering practice. I take on a few engagements at a time — the kind where the goal is a real working system that makes a hard decision easier for the people who have to make it.
Work I've done over the last six years:
- Computer-vision systems for transportation and law enforcement
- Data pipelines for the Department of Defense
- Document-processing systems for VA healthcare
- A long tail of business-automation work for small companies that needed something specific and didn't want a platform
I also teach part-time at Georgia Tech as an instructional associate in machine learning.
How I think about the work
I'd rather build the smallest thing that proves an idea is good and let it grow from there. Boring infrastructure when boring works, AI where AI actually adds something a human notices.
Where I am
I came back to Pittsburgh after a few years in DC. I'm raising a family here because the community reflects the values I grew up with — neighborliness, education, compassion, the long view.
Outside of work I like throwing parties and hunting the big woods.
If you want to talk
I'm reachable at chris@base2ml.com. Topics I'd genuinely enjoy hearing about:
- Local civic projects where some technical infrastructure would actually help.
- Consulting or fractional engineering, especially anything where data, AI, or decision-support is the real problem.
- Anyone in Pittsburgh building something real.
I read every email and reply within a few days.
